John Chris Jones

When on Holiday with his family John Chris Jones grew bored of the usual sandy beaches and wanted to explore St’ives in a unique way.  Although Jones was not a photographer he grabbed his daughter instamtic and selected 10 of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.  When arriving at each destination he would take a photograph facing North, East, South and West. His concept behind this was to rebel from the usual tourist experience. He only photograph at the point where he had selected on the map. Photographing the different direction allowed him to document the whole area, not just a object. He restrained from photograph the same cliche subject unlike the other tourists.

My Project resembles John Chris Jone’s work in someways. I shall not approach Bridgnorth as a tourist, more as a photographer which a job to do. I will photograph only the area which was selected on my map, Yes I may photograph a unique part of the area, but the method I’m using the allow me to explore area’s which some tourist’s may not.  I could approach Bridgnorth and photograph things which many people have before, the trains, the old pubs, the tramline. I wan’t to refrain from this and document Bridgnorth in a very random and chanced way.
